Research and Development of Criterial Correlations for the Optimal Grid Element Size Used for RANS Flow Simulation in Single and Compound Channels

At present, software products for numerical simulation of fluid dynamics problems (ANSYS Fluent, Ansys CFX, Star CCM, Comsol, etc.) are widely used. These mainly based on the solution Navier–Stokes equations, most common and computationally easy method solving, which is Reynolds averaging (RANS), further closing system using semi-empirical turbulence models. Currently, there many modeling methods models; however, no generalized recommendations setting up grid models flows, while practical use both correct mathematical computational important. In particular, choice scale global elements typical single channels. This work devoted to development study relations a priori estimation parameters model in relation solving hydrodynamic with flow The paper proposes introduction convergence criterion channels at high numbers.
